The 17th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival August 28-30
Sidewalk Film Festival is produced by the Alabama Moving Image Association, a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to inspire, encourage and support filmgoers, the city of Birmingham and the filmmaking community. In addition to hosting the annual film festival, we host monthly networking and educational events, a monthly documentary series, short film and screenwriting competitions, manage a youth board and a variety of other year-round programs.

Director Frank Ross returns with a blue-collar comedy drama with an all-star cast. James Ransone plays Lonnie, a well-meaning house painter who has fallen into a routine of work, X-Box and functioning alcoholism. He sets himself to transform his relationship with co-worker Monica from something friendly to something more romantic, but really manages to blow it along the way. With a script that’s full of life and laughs and lots of ugly truth, Bloomin Mud Shuffle is Ross’ most accomplished work to date. The film features Alex Karpovsky, Natasha Lyonne, and Alexia Rasmussen.
