The 17th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival August 28-30
Sidewalk Film Festival is produced by the Alabama Moving Image Association, a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to inspire, encourage and support filmgoers, the city of Birmingham and the filmmaking community. In addition to hosting the annual film festival, we host monthly networking and educational events, a monthly documentary series, short film and screenwriting competitions, manage a youth board and a variety of other year-round programs.

Although Tova claims to not believe in love, such doesn’t stop her from being a successful matchmaker in Israel. She also has muscular dystrophy and takes great care and pleasure in finding matches for people with disabilities. While Do You Believe in Love? spends time following potential couples, the most striking moments are the tense and tender dynamics within Tova’s household. Love is shown at many stages: passionate and new, strengthening over time, and bending without breaking. The documentary balances a reality television feel with genuine moments of happiness and heartache between Tova and those around her.
